450 metresNothing beneath you

You are hanging in the harness. The forest floor disappears. Thirty metres below lies the Paradieswiese meadow, ahead of you the whole Ahr Valley – and then you let go. Across to the opposite hill. And back again.

Wide view across the open Ahr Valley, taken from the mega zip line

And then the valley opens up.

The last 5 minutes of your course

The mega zip line is not an add-on. It is the finale of your climbing adventure, just when you thought it could not get any better. Launch yourself. Then queue up again: the first time you hold on tight, the second time you spread your arms.

01

Getting there

Work your way through eight Adventure courses with zip lines, Tarzan swings, banana jump, the catapult and much more. Your hands know the steel cable by now. You think you are done.

02

The platform

Now you are standing on the last platform. Ahead of you: no bridge, no net. Just the sky and a cable running right across the Paradieswiese to the hill opposite.

03

The launch

You clip in, take one breath… and then nothing carries you but your harness. Thirty metres of air below you, the Ahr Valley in full splendour beneath your feet.

04

And back

After the flight is before the flight. The second stretch takes you back into the forest. You will still be dreaming and talking about it days later.

Words are good. Experiencing it is better.

26 seconds of original footage from the mega zip line. Just that.

Still from the video: riding the mega zip line, the open Ahr Valley behind

The Ahr Valley from above, entirely naturally. No helicopter – you fly like a bird.
